Martin Elbert Golightly, 68, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
Born in Burke County, NC on April 8, 1956, he was the son of the late George Elbert Golightly and Frances Elizabeth Martin Golightly.
Martin was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. He was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed watching wrestling, had a great sense of humor, and was a cat lover.
Martin is survived by his daughters, Jessica Golightly (Justin) and Joanna Golightly (Jessica); and grandchildren, Aleena and Calvin.
In addition to his parents, Martin was preceded in death by a sister, Dorcas Golightly Beasley; and a brother, Steven Golightly.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Rocky Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Martin, We have wrote faithfully since 2004. We supported each other through all the challenges that life kept giving us. It will not be the same not having you to share with our days thru mail.
