Marvin Danny Ledford

On June 19^th, 2021 Marvin Danny Ledford, best known as “Pop”, was embraced in the arms of his loving Father, God with his family by his side.  Pop was born in Erwin, TN on November 24, 1952.  He moved to NC to raise his son but his heart always had a place for his Tennessee heritage.  He loved collecting Tennessee souvenirs, NASCAR racing, and knives.  He enjoyed visiting Pigeon Forge, TN and Apple Barn apple cider was his morning boost.

Pop loved his wife, Linda, of 25 years as Christ loved the church.  He came into her life at a time when she was in great need of a companion and the family needed him the most.  He was the greatest caregiver to her.  He fit into our big family as if he was meant to be.  He was adored by all who knew him.  Pop loved family gatherings with everyone, listening to music, preaching, and keeping up with his family and friends on Facebook.

Pop is survived by his wife, Linda Norville Kelley Ledford of the home; sons, Danny Lee Ledford, Ralph Kelley and wife, Wendy, and Allen Kelley and wife, Beth; daughters, Audrey Stallings and husband, Bob, and Angela Greene; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Ledford.

Pop was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Olene Ledford; grandson, Kevin “Buddy” McSheffrey; and sister, Shirley Ledford.

The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Faith Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gene Self officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
