Mary Alice Causby Walters

Mary Alice Causby Walters, 93, of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, February 6, 2017. She was born April 26, 1923 in Burke County, NC and was the daughter of the late William Wesley Causby and Nannie Elizabeth Franklin Causby. Mary was a loving mother and sister and loved her church family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Walters, Jr.; sons, Carol Wayne Walters and Allen Ray Walters; and sister, Katherine Causby Hoke.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Walters, of the home and Donna Walters Pearson and husband, Brian; sisters, Beatrice Causby Chapman; grandchildren, Barbara Hertel and husband, Darryl of NY, Deborah Walters Patterson of KY, and Danette Walters Setzer and husband, Jason of Hildebran, NC; great-grandchildren, William Jenkins of IN, Kasey Patterson of NY, Cody and Mary Hertel of NY, and Diamond and Jamie Young; great-great-grandchildren, Grace Price, Brendon Jenkins, Marshall Jenkins, Trent Young; and daughters-in-law, Marie Davis Walters and Glenda Allen Walters.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2017 at Denton’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The service will follow at the church at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Phillip Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
