Mary Alice Chapman, 68, of Morganton died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Born August 14, 1944 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Forest Graham Chapman and Dorine Alice Pruitt Chapman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Iva Jane Duckworth. Mary Alice loved all animals, especially cats.Mary Alice is survived by a sister, Linda Chapman Palangi and husband, Stephen, of Sanford, NC; a niece, Lisa Duckworth and Burley Moody of Morganton; a great-nephew, Zackary Curtis of Morganton.; and a brother-in-law, Rick Duckworth of Morganton.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30 until 7:00 pm at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
