Mary Ann Long

Mary Ann Long, 82, of Morganton died Thursday, November 7, 2013. She was born in Dante, VA on March 28, 1931 and was a daughter of the late Frank Wiley Kilgore and Elsie Phillips Kilgore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Conrad Long; brothers, Arthur and Wiley Kilgore; sisters, Bonnie Milton and Lorie Helton; and by her mother-in-law, Rosa Buchanan.Mary Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, and caregiver and was of the Baptist faith. She was greatly loved and will be missed by her family.She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bryant and husband, Robert, of Morganton; granddaughter, Brandee Bryant; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Graycie Carswell all of Morganton; brothers, Harmon Kilgore and wife, Sylvia, of Virginia; brother-in-law, David Buchanan, of Travelers Rest, SC; and sister-in-law, Tyma Kilgore of Icard.The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Carroll officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home one hour before the service.
