Mary Ellen Hoffman

Mary Ellen Hoffman, 89, of Foothills Dr. in Morganton died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Grace Heights following a period of declining health. She was born April 4, 1919 in Gaston Co, NC, and was a daughter of the late L. Carl Ford, Sr. and Myrtle Carpenter Ford. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church.She is survived by sons, Michael F. Hoffman of Bethesda, MD, and Frank P. Hoffman of Friendship, MD; a brother, James L. Ford of Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 10, 2008 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Parish Nursing Program, PO Drawer 459, Morganton, NC 28680. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
