Mary Hamer Walker

Mary Hamer Walker, 76, of Morganton, died Saturday, October 6, 2012. Born in Baltimore, MD on December 27, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John Clinton Hamer and Altha Viola Logan Hamer. For several years Mary worked as a caregiver to many people.A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary is survived by her husband, William J. Walker of the home; a son, Clint Fordham of Ocean City, MD; a daughter, Cassie Fordham of Morganton; grandchildren, Jennifer Fordham, Jason Hill, and Aaron Fordham; and great-grandchildren, Elijah Fordham and Abram Avery.In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Moses officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
