Mary Inez Gillenwater Ledford

Mary Inez Gillenwater Ledford, 91, of Morganton, NC passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. She was born in Scott County, VA on June 4, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Callie Gillenwater. Inez was an angel on earth.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Alvin “Pete” Ledford; brothers, Robey, Palmer, and Glen Gillenwater; and sisters, Susie Morrison, Hazel Cook, LaRue McKinney, and Georgia Gillenwater.
She is survived by son, Bob Ledford and wife, Connie; daughters, Donna Benner and husband, Bob and Debbie Short; grandchildren, Mark Ledford and wife, Anna, Krista Ledford, Scott Reid and wife, Sandra; great-grandchildren, Haven Ledford, Thaddeus and Keira Reid; and sister, Elsie Alley.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall, 100 Silver Creek Rd., Morganton. A memorial service will follow at the church at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
