Mary Lambert Price, 96, of Drexel, NC, peacefully left this life to join her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 10, 2024.

Born in Burke County, NC on June 23, 1928, she was the daughter of the late F.A. Lambert and Bessie Smith Lambert. Mary lived a Christian life and loved the lord and her family. She was a member of Drexel First Church of God, where she was a special prayer warrior for her church, family, and friends. She retired from Drexel Heritage after many years of service. Mrs. Price was a fabulous cook who was famous for her chicken and dumplings. Mary loved to travel and visited almost every historical site, national park, and vacation getaway in the USA. She loved music and often traveled with her husband, Falls, to gospel singings.

Her family will miss this mother more than words can express. We have looked to her for love and guidance our entire lives and she has always been there for us. God has received a special angel, and we will be waiting to see her again. Blessed mother, thank you for your life well lived.

Mary is survived by her son, Clifford Smith (Sharon); daughters, Dee V. Colbert (Mike) and Cathy Byrd (Jerry); step-sons, Falls Price, Jr. (Sue) and Terry Price (Chris); step-daughters, Debbie Summerscale, Lyra Henderson (John), and Yvette King (Kenny); grandchildren, Christopher Wade Vance, Samuel Ray Smith, Nathan Smith, Brian Smith, and Lorrie Smith; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Lambert; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and her special granddog, Tildie Mae Byrd.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel Arlow Smith; second husband, Falls W. Price, Sr.; son, Ray Smith; daughter, Mary Angeline Smith; grandson, Samuel Cody Smith; granddaughter, Lynn Smith; brothers, John, William, Wayne, David, Herbert, and Clyde Lambert; and sisters, Irene Carswell and Margaret Throneburg.

Mary will be available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Dennis Carswell officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Amorem Hospice (amoremsupport.org/donate).

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

What a lovely, Christian lady Mary Ruth was. Years ago when Gordon and Irina were young, she was so kind to them and so thoughtful. She babysat them once and they never forgot it. I know that she is enjoying a wonderful reunion with Falls, family, and friends. She was a little lady, but I have no doubt she leaves a big hole here on earth. God bless you all.
