Mary Mace Moses

Mary Mace Moses, 93, of Miller Bridge Road, Connelly Springs, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Born in Burke County, NC, on July 13, 1914, she was daughter of the late Toney Lee Mace and Emaline Liney Huffman Mace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Moses; a son, Robert Lee Moses; four brothers, Lester, Javan, Louie, and Frank Mace; a sister, Sadie Lail; infant brother, Loy Mace; and an infant sister, Minnie Ellen Mace. Mary was a member of Smart’s Grove Baptist Church.A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Mary is survived by her daughters, Ardell Leonard of Connelly Springs and Louise Burgess and husband, Frank, of Denver, NC; a son, Bilford Moses of the home; grandchildren Alisa Leonard, Jack Leonard, Ronny Leonard, Tracy Burgess, Mark Burgess, and Keith Burgess; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Azalie Rector and Ruth Lowman; and a brother, J.C. Mace.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Smart’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
