Mary McDaniel Hamrick

Mary McDaniel Hamrick, 95, of B Street, Drexel died Wednesday, February 27, 2008, following a period of declining health. She was born on November 12, 1912 in York County, SC and was a daughter of the late John Jefferson McDaniel and Frances Louise Burns McDaniel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Thomas Hamrick; a son, Donald Ralph Hamrick; and by a brother, Samuel McDaniel. Mrs. Hamrick was devoted to her family and to her church family at Pleasant View Baptist Church.She is survived by a son, Bill Hamrick and his wife, Carolyn, of Morganton; daughters, Carolyn McCall of Morganton and Sue Blackwelder of Conway, SC; a daughter-in-law, Louise Curtis, of Morganton; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Burt Wilber and Rev. David Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at Mrs. Hamrick’s home in Drexel.
