Mary McNeilly

Mary McNeilly, 68, of Glen Alpine, NC died Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Born October 10, 1943 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Robert Taylor, Sr. and Mae Shull Taylor. Mary’s hobby was fishing, and her favorite fish was walleye. She also loved racing, and Jeff Gordon was her favorite driver.A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Mary is survived by sons, Earl Yancey and wife, Nancy, of Glen Alpine, and Robert Yancey of Morganton; a daughter, Aundrea Shell and husband, Randy, of Lawndale, NC; thirteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy McNeilly; and sisters, Violet Teague and Marlene Collins.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Glen Alpine United Methodist Church with Rev. Barbara Mayo officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
