Mary Pritchard Beck, 96, of Drexel, NC passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on September 9, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Simon Peter Pritchard and Pearl Charlotte Johnson Pritchard. Mary loved to hunt. She worked at Drexel Knitting and Cloer’s Grocery, and she did volunteer work at Autumn Care of Drexel.
Mary is survived by her son, Joseph “Joe” Beck and his wife, Dianne, of Saltville, VA; a daughter, Sarah “Granny” Epps of Granite Falls, NC; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Beck; a son, Lester Beck; brothers, Joe, Charles, and Don Pritchard; and a sister, Octavia Greene.
The graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Beck Family Cemetery with Speaker Robert Clarke officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
