Mrs. Mary Sue Early Benfield, of Morganton, NC died peacefully at home Sunday June 2, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on June 20, 1946, she was the daughter to the late Robert and Pearl Early.
She loved to shop, listen to music, and spend time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sister, Clara (Did) Benfield.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lenior Edward Benfield, Sr.; sons, Chris Bartlett (Jodie); Lenior Benfield, Jr. (Amanda); sisters, Mabel Shook, Marjorie Bivens; grandchildren, Thomas Bartlett (Kaitlyn), Karleigh Bartlett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11am until noon, Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Mulls Grove Baptist Church. A funeral will be held in the sanctuary at noon with Rev. Dean McCurry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
