Matthew Rhyan Miller

Matthew Rhyan Miller, 34, of Lenoir passed away this past weekend.  Born in Burke County, NC on May 4, 1985, he was the son of Rebecca Miller Vance and husband, Randy, and the late Dennie Jerome Miller.  Matthew was a professor at UNC Greensboro where he was working on his doctorate.

In addition to his mother, Matthew is survived by step-brothers, Israel Aaron Vance (Zack Templeton) and Jordan Dale Vance (Marissa); grandmother, Katie McCurry Neely; and a number of aunts and uncles.

In addition to his father, Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nettie Miller, Owen Miller, and Frank Neely.

A gathering of friends will be held at the family home on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 5 until 8 p.m.  At the request of the family, bring your best story of Matthew.
