Maxine Burleson Silvers

Maxine Burleson Silvers, 60, of Hopewell Rd., Morganton, NC died Friday, January 12, 2007, at Valdese General Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Mitchell County, NC on September 25, 1946 and was a daughter of the late Ernest and Kate Carpenter Burleson. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son, Richard William Silvers, a daughter, Crystal Gail Silvers, a brother, James Burleson; and a sister, Ernestine Burleson Carpenter. Mrs. Silvers was a member of Victory Chapel Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, William Wilkie Silvers, of the home; a daughter, Teresa Silvers Lewis, of Morganton; brothers, Phillip Burleson of Icard and Jerry Burleson of Morganton; a sister, Loraine Willis of Morganton; and three grandchildren, Dylan Silvers, Cory Lewis, and Cassie Lewis.

The funeral will be held at 12 noon, Monday, January 15, 2007 at Victory Chapel Baptist church with Rev. Johnny McCarty officiating. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Berry Chapel Cemetery in Spruce Pine, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes before the funeral.
