Maxine Francis Rutherford

Maxine Francis Rutherford, 79, was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Saturday, December 7, 2013.

Born in McDowell County to Jesse & Katie Thomas Francis, she was the third of eleven children. She loved her family and had a special relationship with her parents and each of her siblings. Maxine was a member of Corpening's Chapel AME Church in Bridgewater, NC. She retired from Leviton Southern Devices, Inc. after 23 years.In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Rutherford; daughter, Pamela K. Rutherford; son, Bobby G. Rutherford; brothers, Jesse Francis; Otis (Frank) Francis; Robert Francis; Wilbur Francis, and sisters, Lillian Francis Walker and Mary Sue Francis.She is survived by four daughters, Juanita Rutherford; Patricia Rutherford Shade; Mary Frances Rutherford Brown and Sharon Renee Rutherford; brothers Clarence Francis; Henry Leon Francis and Charles Francis; and sister, Ola Francis Caldwell and husband, Robert, all of Morganton, NC; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.A home-going service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Bishop Shawn Hooper and Pastor Tommy Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Corpening's Chapel AME Church Cemetery
