Mayo Martin Frye

Mayo Martin Frye, 98, of Hickory, NC died Monday, March 5, 2012 at Brian Center East. Born October 9, 1913 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late James Alexander Martin and Bessie Huffman Martin. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John E. Lindsay; second husband, Fletcher Frye; brother, James Herman Martin; and sisters, Annie Lee Burch, Dallis Martin, and Lillian Martin. Mayo was a member of Carswell Memorial Baptist Church.She is survived by a brother, Dr. Tellis Martin of Concord, NH; a sister, Beatrice Ridenhour of Englewood, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Carswell Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. James Green officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes before the funeral hour.
