Meagan Leigh Freeman

Meagan Leigh Freeman, 24 of Morganton, NC died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. Born August 31, 1988 in Randolph County, NC, she was a daughter of Earl Jackson "Jack" Freeman and Judy Lynn Smith Freeman of Morganton. Meagan was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Lenoir, NC and was an enthusiastic student of the Japanese and Korean languages. She was devoted to her family and to her church. Her family gives sincere thanks to the staff at Table Rock Family Medicine.In addition to her parents she is survived by her siblings, Angel Freeman Digh and husband, Jon, Ryan Freeman and wife, Amy, Kristie Schauman, Pat Schauman and wife, Tamara, Sean Freeman all of Morganton, and Katherine Elizabeth Freeman of Chapel Hill, NC; grandfather, Harold "Paw Paw" Williams of Drexel, NC; grandmother, Nina Smith of Lenoir; aunts and uncles, Kermit and Anita Fox, Betty and Earl Sturic, Johnnie Williams, Wes and Janice Freeman, Marcie and Gary Saunders, and Libby and Keith Norton; great aunts, Nancy Merrill, Diane Smith, Katherine Petrie, Roberta Hatley, and Carolyn Freeman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Meagan was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Earl and Josephine Freeman and her maternal grandfather, Carl Smith.A private family service will be held at a later date.
