Megan Renee Morehead, 33 of Morganton, NC joined her father in Heaven, Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Born on February 26, 1992, she was the daughter of Debbie Morehead and the late Steve Morehead. Megan was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She had a compassionate sense of humor and loved animals. Megan graduated from Freedom High School where she was a cheerleader.
In addition to her mother, Debbie, Megan is survived by her son, Axl Morehead; siblings, Angie Scott (Zeb), Ronnie Morehead (Courtney), Stephanie Thompson (Steven); niece, Mindi Evans; numerous nephews; maternal grandmother, Frances Whisnant; great-uncle, Bill Whisnant; aunts, Dianne Stuart (Tim) and Sandy Sisk (David), cousins, Kelly Gay, Lauren Edwards, Alex Sisk, Mike and Chad Morehead, Wendy Morrow.
In addition to her father, Megan was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Morehead; paternal grandparents, Lib and Marvin Morehead; maternal grandfather, Worth Whisnant.
The family will receive friends from 3pm until 4pm, Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 4pm in the Chapel with the Revs. April Abernethy and Adam Love officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mo'love you are gonna be missed by so many! I haven't got to see you in a long time (prob since I worked at Speedway) but we have been friends since we were little. I love and miss you sweet girl!

Precious Megan. I sure miss our talks at Friday Friends. I was so thrilled when I found out you worked there and so excited to catch up on the years that had passed. To see your sweet smile warmed my heart and to see you light up about your son meant the world to me. Rest in Peace precious one, you were loved very much!! Debbie, Praying for you and your family. Megan bragged about what a good mother and family that she had and she truly loved her son and you. Asking God to wrap his arms around all of you and to give you Peace during this difficult time.

Mrs. Morehead. I’m so sorry about Megan. She was a precious girl and I enjoyed teaching her. She was my favorite student. I am sick today so I will be unable to come by and offer my condolences. I’ll be thinking of you. 🙏

Loved working with her at Friday friends for years, I will miss her so much. We had tons of laughs and good times together. I hate our lives went separate ways when things got bad but she will always be in my heart. God got another angel too soon she was so full of life and always had fun and made people laugh.
Megan, You had a whole life left to live. You will be missed. I pray you are not suffering anymore. You were always so kind to me in school. I pray that god wraps his arms around your family. Rest easy Megan 🕊️
