Melanie Johnston Epley

Melanie Johnston Epley, 36, of Morganton died Monday, July 1, 2013. Born in Burke County, NC on December 27, 1976, she was the daughter of Robert Johnston and Laura Clark Johnston of Morganton. Melanie was a loving mother and a strong person.She is survived by her husband, Heath Epley of the home; sons, Daniel and James Epley of the home; brothers, Robert, Shawn, and Stacy Johnston, all of Morganton; a sister, Tracy Sams of Morganton; her grandmother, Ruth Laughridge of Morganton; seven nieces; and eight nephews.Melanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Dollie Clark; her grandfather, James Johnston; and her step-grandfather, Cecil Laughridge.The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Farnham officiating. Burial will follow in Park Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
