Melba Fowler

Melba Fowler, 68, of Ridge Blvd., Morganton, died Friday, January 29, 2010. She was born in Cleveland County, March 5, 1941 to the late Zero Lee Jones and Minnie Humphries Jones. Mrs. Fowler was a member of Smart’s Grove Baptist Church and had retired from Century Furniture Case Goods Plant in Hickory. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie McFarland.She is survived by her husband, Joseph "Joe" Allen Fowler of the home; sons, Neal and Wayne McFarland both of Cleveland County, NC and Bobby McFarland of Conover; daughters, Cindy Rickman and her husband, Ron and Andrea Spencer and her husband, Bryan both of Hickory; grandchildren, Christopher McFarland, Kindle Rickman, Landon Rickman and Amelia Spencer; brother, Roy Lee Jones of Cleveland County; and a sister, Iva Mellon of Hickory.A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Smart’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
