Melvin Glenn Norman

Melvin Glenn Norman, 93, of North Street, Morganton, NC, died Friday, September 15, 2006 at his residence. Born in Cleveland County, NC, on May 11th, 1913, he was the son of the late Clemmie Franklin Norman and Bessie Towery Norman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton Norman and John Henry Norman, and a sister, Mamie Norman. Melvin was a loving husband and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching gospel music and preaching on television, and shopping with his wife. He was a retired employee of Henredon Furniture.

Mr. Norman is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ada McNeely Norman of the home, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence, 114 North Street, Morganton.
