Melvin Upton Webb

Melvin Upton Webb, 73, of Drexel, NC died unexpectedly Monday, December 26, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Burke County, NC on April 19, 1943 and was the son of the late Jake Webb and Virginia Elizabeth Shuping Webb. Melvin was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed. He was a member of Drexel First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Webb.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Sylvia June Hildebran Webb; daughter, Sandy Webb and fiancé, Matthew Anderson; siblings, Donnie Eugene Webb and wife, Judy, and Jerry Alan Webb and fiancée, Tina Allman all of Morganton.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Drexel First Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the church with Rev. Michael Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Drexel First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 308, Drexel, NC 28619.
