Michael Cain Piercy

Michael Cain Piercy, 31, of Morganton died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Burke County on December 4, 1981. Michael worked at Foothills Correctional Institute and was an avid hunter and fisherman.Michael is survived by his wife, Amanda Long Piercy of the home; daughters, Alexis, Jayden, Hailee, and Jasmine Piercy, all of the home; his father, Bill Piercy and his wife, Debra, of Morganton; his mother, Debra Harwood and her husband, Bruce, of Morganton; brothers, Bill Piercy, Jr. and his wife, Leslie, of Morganton, Johnny Harwood and his wife, Missy, of Spruce Pine, NC, and Derek Harwood and his wife, Tabatha, of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Michelle Arney and her boyfriend, Kevin Johnson, and Christina Westbrooks and her husband, Robert, all of Morganton; his paternal grandmother, Rama Piercy of Glen Alpine, NC; his extended family including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; Amanda’s family, including parents and grandparents, who thought the world of Michael; and his work family who were like his brothers.The funeral will be held at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2013 at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Al Tinnin officiating. The family will receive friends in the Life Enrichment Center at the church from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
