Committal
Michael “Captain” Rogers, 59, of Morganton, NC, gained his wings on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
Born in Berkshire County, Massachusetts on March 6, 1963, he was the son of the late Charles Henry Rogers and Norma Lois Berry Rogers. Captain attended The Rising Church. He was a radio disc jockey known as “Captain Mike.” He was the best husband, father, and brother that anyone could ask for.
Captain is survived by his wife of 32 years, Renée Wilson Rogers; sons, Brandon Rogers (Appy), Jason Rogers, and Aaron Rogers; brother, Gregory Rogers; sisters-in-law, Penny Woodell (Eddie) and Louise Bledsoe (Jason); brother-in-law, Tim Wilson; several nieces and nephews; and his special canine companion, Put-Put.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022 at The Rising Church. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. in the church with Bishop Barry Camp officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
