Michael David Baldwin

Michael David Baldwin, 40, of Hudson, NC went home to be with his Heavenly Father and join his beloved "Mama Flowers" on Friday, June 13, 2014. He was born in Burke County, NC on September 4, 1973. Michael was a graduate of Freedom High School in Morganton. He worked at Caterpillar Precision Engine for many years and most recently worked at Sypris Technologies. He was loved by all who knew him, especially by his nieces and nephews whom he showered with love and affection.

Michael is survived by his parents, Steve and Linda Flowers Schachtschneider of Morganton; his fiancée, Anita Ollis of Hudson, NC; sisters, Tammy Hilliard and her husband, Bill, of Knightdale, NC, Tammy Jensen and her husband, Yates, of Rutherford College, NC, Lisa Lange and her husband, Chantz, of Katy, TX, and Trisha Schachtschneider of Morganton; brothers, James Schachtschneider of Hickory, NC and Stephen Schachtschneider of Charlotte, NC; nephews, Dylan and Logan Hilliard, Trey and Tate Jensen, and Tyler Lange; nieces, Monica Schachtschneider and Alisa Lange; grandmothers, Mary Lingo of Edgerton, WS and Marie Maxwell of Fletcher, NC; his future mother-in-law, Frances Vaughn of Marion, NC; a special aunt, Doris Lowery, a special cousin, Jessica Lowery; and a great number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandparents, David and Ethel Flowers.

The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. T. Jay Addison officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 500 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Sossoman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 2608, Morganton, NC 28680 to assist the family.
