Michael Demrick Walker

Michael Demrick Walker, 56, of Morganton gained his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.  Born in Burke County, NC on October 7, 1963, he was the son of the late Sterling Freeman Walker and Pearlie Mae Roper Walker Thomas.  Michael was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church and was a good Christian man.  He enjoyed watching any kind of sports, especially the Carolina Panthers.  Prior to losing his mobility, he enjoyed playing guitar.  He also enjoyed doing anything outdoors including hunting and fishing.  He also greatly enjoyed talking about the Lord and good times when things were simpler.

Michael is survived by his sisters, Deborah Walker Hendricks and Carol Walker McMahan; nephews, James Daniel Bristol, Michael Gavin Smith, and Cody James McMahan; a number of aunts, uncles, and extended family; and his dog, Little Bear.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 15, 2019 at Burkemont Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton officiating.
