Michael McKinnon’s Soul went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 30, 2008.I was born in Scranton, PA on August 7, 1926 and grew up there. Only my brother, Joseph, remains of the family of John and Susan McKinnon, along with nieces and nephews. My adult life was spent mostly in and around Boston, MA. It was there I met and married Agnes Sheridan, my soul mate and joy, and gained a wonderful group of Irish relatives. My formal education concluded at Northwestern University in Boston. My last job was 17 happy years as a Disability Examiner for Social Security claims. Then came my retirement to western North Carolina, which is an area of great beauty and friendly people. My Christian faith was much enriched here among so many admirable believers from all denominations (including my Catholic faith).Lastly, I’m Grateful to the Grace Ridge Retirement Community where my final years were brightened by a cheerful, efficient staff, and many caring residents. God bless you all. "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit."P.S. My final prayer is that all Christians be united by our basic belief--along with all Believers in God and Searching Agnostics--living together in peace and love--learning from and helping each other in our spiritual and economic problems.
