Michael Raymond Beach

Michael Raymond Beach, 58, of Morganton, NC, passed away on February 14, 2017 at his residence.  Born on March 23, 1958 in Burke County, he was the son of Kathleen Beach Lane and the late Johnnie Ray Beach.

Michael was employed for many years at American Roller Bearing, Caterpillar and James Tool.  He was an avid coin collector and a member at area coin clubs.

In addition to his mother, Michael leaves behind to cherish his memory are his financée, Deborah Henderson; sons, Joseph M. Beach and Kelly R. Beach both of Morganton; and sisters, Debra B. Abee and husband, Gene of Connelly Springs; Kathy B. Brittain and husband, Fred of Morganton, and Claudia B. Summers and husband, Jason of Wilmington, NC.  Michael is also survived by step-daughters, Dee Dee Vance and husband, Michael of West Virginia; step-grandchildren, Ryan and Kaitlynn Vance; many nephews and nieces; and special prayer warriors, Dawanna and Mike Lewis.

In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Melvina Jordan Beach.

The memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, at Smarts Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Lewis and Rev. Coy Lee Baker officiating.  Following the service, the family will receive friends at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Sossoman Funeral Home, PO Box 2608, Morganton, NC  28680 to assist with funeral expenses.
