Michael "Todd" Stillwell

Michael “Todd” Stillwell, 49, of Morganton left this world too soon on Saturday, August 25, 2018.  Born in Burke County, NC on December 28, 1968, he was the son of Cecilia A. Settlemyre Stillwell of Morganton and the late Donald “Tom” Stillwell.  Todd was an avid member of First Advent Christian Church where he served as a deacon.  He was employed over 30 years with American Roller Bearing and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

A loving and caring husband and father, Todd is survived by his wife, Julie Rich Stillwell of the home; daughters, Emily Lauren Stillwell and Heather Leanne Stillwell; brother, Scott Edwin Stillwell (Krista) of Morganton; father-in-law, Howard Rich (Lynda); special cousin, Terry Dean Stillwell; Phyllis Fox, who was like a second mother to Todd; and Preston Buff, who he thought of as a son.

In addition to his father, Todd was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bud and Hettie Stillwell and Cecil and Velva Settlemyre; and several uncles and an aunt.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 at First Advent Christian Church with Pastor Patrick Bradshaw officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
