Michael Zane Spake

Michael Zane Spake, 50, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Born March 7, 1963 in Burke County, NC, he was a son of the late Robert Zane Spake and Sara Francis Sealey Spake. Michael was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church and a US Navy veteran. During his time at Freedom High School, he was a promising athlete and played several sports, including football and baseball.Michael is survived by his two children, Stephanie and Jordan Spake; brothers, Randy Spake and wife, Regina, Kelly Spake, and Kenny Spake and wife, Sharon; sisters-in-law, Kathy Spake and Connie Spake; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Terry and Dale Spake.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Mt. Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the D.A.R.E.
