Mildred Davis Gantt

Mildred Davis Gantt, 82, of Morganton went to be with her beloved husband and daughter on Friday, July 27, 2012. Born in Burke County, NC on May 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Zeb Carter Davis and Bertie Laura Herron Davis. Mildred was a faithful member of Mount Home Baptist Church. She retired from Western Carolina Center with over 30 years of service. She loved to travel, work in her garden, grow flowers, and shop and cook. Mildred adored her family.She is survived by her sons, Randy Gantt and his companion, Leah, of Newton and Mike Gantt and his wife, Angie, of Morganton; a daughter, Diane G. Cloninger and her husband, Steve, of Claremont, NC; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, R. C. Davis of Morganton.In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Farrell Gamel "Boss" Gantt; a daughter, Linda Greene; and two brothers, George and Bob Davis.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2012 at Mt. Home Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
