Mildred "Kaye" Branch Mourglea

Mildred “Kaye” Branch Mourglea, age 55, of Connelly Springs, NC went to her heavenly home on August 20, 2015 after many years of declining health.  She was born in Burke County, NC on August 5, 1960 to the late Donald and Ruby Branch.  She worked at the Morganton Animal Clinic, Western Carolina Center, Hanes, and Catawba Creations until Kaye became disabled.  She was family driven and loved to be surrounded by her family and friends.  Kaye was a member of Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church where she attended services until she became home bound.  Kaye loved her church and her Lord. 

Kaye is survived by her loving husband, Andy Mourglea, of the home; two children, Saharia Mourglea Hicks and husband, Ricky, of Morganton, and Andrew Gioberti Mourglea of the home; cousins, Wanda Mace and husband, Frank, and Carol McCracken, all of Morganton; an aunt, Emily Ollis and husband, Mac, of Morganton; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Kaye was preceded in death by a brother, Allen “Pancho” Branch; and a host of aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church.  The funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the church with Rev. Danny McNeilly officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  At other times, the family will gather at the home of the daughter, Saharia Hicks.  Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC  28690, or Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church, 5292 Walker’s Chapel Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
