Millie Fox Harbison, 88, of Morganton died on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center. Born in Burke County on February 28, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Charles Alexander Fox, Sr. and Beuna Adeline Tinsley Fox.
Millie was a faithful member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church who loved her church dearly. She was a loving wife and mother who cherished her family and saw the beauty in everything.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Janet D. Harbison of the home; a brother, Charles Alexander Fox, Jr. and wife, Dean, of Huntersville; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and brothers-in-law, Bill Thompson of Morganton and John Hairfield of Charleston, SC.
In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edwin “Ed” Harbison; and sisters, Lucy Smith, Lena Hairfield, Sadie Thompson, and Sara Annis.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Following the receiving of friends, the graveside service will be held in the church cemetery with the Rev. David Lawrence officiating.
At other times the family will be at the home of Mrs. Harbison.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
