Mina Jo Brooks

Mina Jo Brooks, 82, of Morganton, NC died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Burke Palliative Care Center in Valdese. Born in Atoka County, OK on August 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Cecil B. Hacker and Leach C. Ward Hacker. She was a past employee of N.C. School for the Deaf and Western Carolina Center.Mina Jo is survived by her husband, Joseph Carl Brooks of the home and a sister, Caroline H. Trickett of OK.A celebration of Mina Jo's life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 6 2011 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Lineberger officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
