Minnie B. Williams

Minnie B. Williams, 90, of Rocky Ford Street, Morganton, NC, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Western Wake Medical Center in Cary, NC. Born in Burke County, NC on November 7, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Pinkney Branch and Alvina Heele Branch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Boyd Williams; brothers, Joseph, Cecil, Donald, and Leroy Branch; and sisters, Ruby Scott, Catherine Byrd, and Amelia Wall. Minnie was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church. She worked at Belk’s Department Store for 41 years. She loved to grow flowers and was an avid fisherman.A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Darleen Lowery and husband, Dan, of Raleigh, NC; a granddaughter, Kim Doreauk and husband, Robert, of Raleigh, NC; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Luke Doreauk; sisters, Mary Hoke, Faye Leonhardt and husband, Ervin, and Virginia Kirby, all of Morganton; sisters-in-law, Juanita Branch and Lillie Branch; and a number of nieces and nephews.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2007 at North Morganton Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour.
