Minnie Bollinger Clark

Minnie Bollinger Clark, 75, of Rose Carswell Rd. in Morganton went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Grace Heights following a period of declining health. She was born April 1, 1934, and was a daughter of the late Elbert Tillman Bollinger and Monnie Denton Bollinger. Minnie was a very active member of Westview Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher for many years and was also the Director of the Ladies WMU Mission Group. In life, she enjoyed music, drama, and reading, especially literature by Jane Austen. Minnie was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.She is survived by a son, Mark Clark of Union Mills, NC; daughters, Sharon Simmons and husband, Gary of Union Mills, and Elizabeth Stewart and husband, Thomas of Winchester, VA; sisters, Sue Whisnant and husband, Miles, and Bertha Morris, all of Union Mills; grandchildren, Amy Radford, Corey Simmons, and Dane Stewart; great-grandchildren, Emma and Matthew Radford; a brother, Junior Bollinger of Morganton; and step-mother, Celestine Smith of Morganton.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Dwight Clark; a brother, Charles Bollinger; and sisters, Annie Clark, Hazel Brackett, and Betty Ballance.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Westview Baptist Church with the Reverends Ricky Speagle and Johnny Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the church fellowship hall.
