Minnie Ross

Minnie Ross, 90, of Morganton, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. Born in Burke County, NC on October 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Smith and Ennie Carswell Smith. Minnie was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church. She loved to garden and cook for her family and friends, especially apple and pumpkin pies.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Minnie is survived by her husband, William Luther Ross of the home; a son, Ted Clark and his wife, Mary; a daughter, Cindy Ross Goins and her husband, Bennie; grandchildren, Travis Clark and his wife, Danielle, and Josh Goins and his wife, Heather; a great-granddaughter, Emma Goins; sisters, Cleo Dale and Frances Mabe; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Ross; and brothers, Paul Smith, Clyde Smith, and Hardie Garrison.
The family will receive friends from 11 am – 12 pm, Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Burkemont Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at church at noon with Dr. David Mills and the Rev. Eddy Bunton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
