Mr. Carl Baker Webb, 79, of the Drexel Community, died, Saturday, February 9, 2008 at his residence. He was born October 8, 1928, in Burke County, to the late Oby Baker Webb and Mary Annie Babb Webb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Stella Norman Webb.Mr. Webb was a member of the Drexel First Church of God. Mr. Webb’s business spanned many years as an owner and operator of numerous businesses such as Webb’s Studio, The Camera Shop, Kelly Color Laboratories, The Farm House and The Steak House. He was a gardener who was best known for his Better Boy tomatoes and Estelle cucumbers.Mr. Webb is survived by his daughters: Brenda and husband Bill Faile of Cumming GA, Cynthia and husband Steve Wilkinson of Wilmington NC, Teresa and husband Dr. Lane Gregory of Angier NC, grandchildren; Blake Faile, Brooke Faile, Kristin Wilkinson Yonkers and husband Jim, Neil Wilkinson, Adam Gregory, Elizabeth Gregory and one great grandchild, London Adeline Yonkers.Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Reverend Donald Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
