Murline B. Lowman

Murline B. Lowman, 76, of Drexel, NC died Friday, July 9, 2009 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. Born in Burke County, NC on March 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Martin Berry and Lessie Powell Berry. Murline was a member of Drexel First Baptist Church. She retired from Bell South after twenty-five years of service and retired from J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center after six years. She enjoyed her friends, cooking, and spending time with her family.She is survived by a brother, Jerry L. Berry of Morganton; special friends, Kaye Deal and Nancy Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Cecil Lowman; brothers, Herman Berry and Clyde Berry; and sisters, Helen Sain and Peggy Lindsay.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Drexel First Baptist Church with Rev. Tito Madrazo officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. At other times the family will be at the residence of a niece, Paula Franklin, 3025 Ramblewood Drive, Valdese, NC. Memorial contributions may be made to Drexel First Baptist Church, P.O.
