Musette Harbison Hauser formerly of North Anderson Street, Morganton, died at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care on October 18, 2010 after a long illness. She was born on March 27, 1918 to the late William Moran Harbison, Sr. and Mullie Orders Harbison of Burke County. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Morganton and a member of a number of missionary circles. She was educated in the Burke County schools and worked for many years at Sears and Burand’s. She was a former member of the Morganton Women’s Club and was a Girl Scout leader.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by William R. Hauser, her husband of 69 years, two brothers, William M. Harbison, Jr. of Morganton and Yates Harbison of Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Surviving are her daughters, Kay Hauser Fox and her husband, Jerry of Morganton and Cindy Hauser of Conover, North Carolina, two grand-children, Chris Gentry and his wife, Ashley, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Susan Gentry Prince and her husband, Jeff of Lexington, North Carolina, three great-grandchildren, Josh Prince and Courtney Prince of Lexington and Paxton Gentry of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Also surviving are her sisters, Susan H Noggle of Morganton and Dean H. Kirkpatrick of Raleigh, North Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.Services will be held at Sossoman Funeral Home on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Sydnor Thompson, III officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be at Burke Memorial Park following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 North King Street, Morganton, NC 28655 or to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, North Carolina 28690.
