Myrtle Lee Williams Dale

Myrtle Lee Williams Dale, 95, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, following a short period of declining health. She was born in Burke County on June 8, 1914 and was a daughter of the late Russell L. and Bessie Mae Orders Williams. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dale was preceded in death by her first husband, Jones Orders Pearson; her second husband, Grover Cleveland Dale; brothers, Kerry, Clyde, Raymond, Clarence, Charles, and Ned Williams; sisters, Effie Williams and Catherine Williams Duckworth. She attended Hopewell Baptist Church.Surviving are sons, Jones Orders "Bud" Pearson of Morganton and Russell Edward Pearson of Vale; daughters, Wanda Myrtle Pearson and Sarah Christine Pearson White; six grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2009, in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Homer Murdock officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
