Nancy Ann Hipps Metcalf

Nancy Ann Hipps Metcalf, 83 of Morganton, NC passed away, Friday, September 16, 2022. Born on January 25, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Coy and Mattie Hipps. Nancy was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She loved to fish at the beach. Her favorite memory of fishing is catching 2 flounders at one time. Nancy enjoyed to crochet, read, working puzzles of different kinds, bird watching, and canning. She loved her singing in the choir at her church and loved her family dearly.

Nancy is survived by her son, Michael Paul Metcalf and wife, Karen; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Junior Metcalf; sons, Ricky Charles Metcalf, Jerry David Metcalf.

The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm, Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home at 3pm. Burial will follow at Riverside Baptist Church.
