Nancy Duckworth Reep

Nancy Duckworth Reep, 77, of Valdese, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born January 8, 1939 in Burke County and was the daughter of the late Henry Duckworth and Minerva Williams Duckworth. Nancy was a member of Quaker Meadows Presbyterian Church. She went to Glen Alpine School and later went back to WPCC to obtain her GED and CNA certification and was proud of doing these achievements after her children were grown and gone. Nancy worked at Grace Hospital and Western Carolina Center, retiring from both. Her first job was at Morganton Hosiery Mill. She loved her family and friends dearly and will greatly be missed by all.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the father of her three children, Larry Reep; brothers, Jim, Paul, Ray and Everett; sisters, Ruby, Ora Lee and Louise.
Nancy is survived by daughters, Denise Reep Ramsey, Becky Reep and Lorie Short; son, Danny Reep and former daughter-in-law, Gina Reep; granddaughter, Keisha Reep; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Ralyn, and Zoey; sister, Ellen Nichols; and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Quaker Meadows Presbyterian Church. The service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Yvonne Thurmond and Chaplain Michael Costner officiating. Burial will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.
