Nanette Cobb Huffman passed away after a short illness on June 24, 2024 surrounded by her family at UNC Health Blue Ridge. She was born on March 27, 1939 to the late Ettie DeVault Cobb and Robert Carr Cobb Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Ronald Huffman, her brothers RC, Phillip, Gilbert and Hugh as well as her sister, Marion D. Robertson and grandchildren, Clayton Huffman and Prestynn Huffman.

She is survived by children, Todd Huffman and wife, Susan, Rhonda Smith and husband, Tim, and Charlie Huffman and wife, Naomi; grandchildren, Krislyn Cheek and husband, Stephen, Morgan Smith and boyfriend, Mark Carswell, Landon and Mitchell Huffman; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Eli Cheek, and Landon Poteat. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Caroline Powell; close cousins, Ann Lail and Ennis Swain; numerous nieces and nephews, and friends she’s made along the way. She is also fondly remembered by her dog, Taco.

Nanette loved to travel and spend time with her group of friends from the Burke Senior Center and the Morganton Recreation Department, taking numerous bus trips all over the country and then coming home to tell her family about what she had seen. She also loved to garden, spend time with her family, and never turned down the chance to watch her grandchildren play ball.

The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The funeral will begin at 11am in the church with Dr. Jack Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
