Naomi M. Williams, 84, of Morganton died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Burke Palliative Care Center. Born in Burke County, NC on October 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Odie A. Mull and Clara V. Cline Mull. Naomi was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she served as organist for 54 years. She was active in the United Methodist Women and was an excellent seamstress. A wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, Naomi always thought of others before herself.Mrs. Williams is survived by husband, Horace Elmer Williams; a daughter, Denise Mostiller and her husband, Marvin, of Morganton; a grandson, Matthew G. Mostiller of Morganton; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her two infant daughters, Lisa Annette Williams and one which was not named; and a sister, Melva Jean Carswell.The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Amy Freeze and Dr. Jeff Beach officiating. The graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Burke Memorial Park prior to the funeral. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
