Nathan “Nate” Douglas Wilson, 41, died Saturday, March 24, 2018. Born in Burke County, NC on February 10, 1977, he was the son of Douglas Wilson and Gail Clark Wilson of Morganton. Nathan was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He loved to do anything associated with hunting, fishing, camping, or racing. Nathan raced in the Mid-Eastern Racing in Morganton and was a member of the South Toe Bear Hunters. He was known for his big heart and never met a stranger. Nathan was an all-around good guy.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his 2 loving, strong children, Skyler Ethan Durham and Raelyn Peyton Wilson; sister, Tiffany Wilson; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins; his canine companion, Nova; and his hunting dogs.
Nathan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dan and Nancy Wilson; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Margie Clark; and 2 uncles, Richard and Dennis Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Dr. Larry Cline and Rev. Chris Dale officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
