Ned Cline, 82, of Drexel, NC passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016. Born in Burke County, NC on June 11, 1933, he was the son of the late Joseph Eli Cline and Blanche Elizabeth Walker Cline. Ned was a lifetime member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Drexel Lions Club. Mr. Cline was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for over thirty years at Drexel Knitting Mills.
Ned is survived by his wife, Juanita Bollinger Cline of the home; a son, Kevin Cline and his wife, Terry, of Morganton; a step-grandson, Jason Norville; a step-great-grandson, Jaxon Norville; brothers, Glenn Cline and his wife, Betty, and Joe Ben Cline and his wife, Faye; a sister-in-law, Ruth Cline; and a number of nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Ned was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Vernon, Max, and Fred Ray Cline; a sister, Barbara Watts; and an infant sister, Frances Cline.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Bethel United Methodist Church on Bethel Road. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Butch Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard.
