Ned Lenoir Dale

Ned Lenoir Dale, 82, of Morganton, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.  Born in Burke County, NC on July 15, 1934, he was the son of the late Arsley “Bill” Lenoir Dale and Ida Mae Pritchard Dale.  He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and sang in the church choir.  Ned worked at Knob Creek and Ethan Allen Furniture Companies.

Mr. Dale is survived by his son, Garry Dale and wife, Jane, of Morganton; daughter, Phyllis King and husband, Tim, of Morganton; grandchildren, Jamie Dale Sherrill and husband, Joe, Jeremy Dale and girlfriend, Christina Jaeger, Lacey King Benfield and husband, Dustin, and Nathanael King; and great-grandchildren, Sawyer Jane Sherrill and Colton Maddox Benfield (due in March).  Ned was a special pawpaw to Amber Peterson, Audrey Thomas, Amy George, and Glenda Jackson.  He is also survived by a sister, Nancy Riddle of Morganton; Romulus Dale and wife, Myrtle, of Morganton; and a sister-in-law, Frances Dale.

In addition to his parents, Ned was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Lewis Dale; brothers, Harold, Jack, and Douglas Dale; and sisters, Ezel Williams, DeEtta Scott, Mabel Townsend, and Rassie Duckworth.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 12:30 pm at the church with the Rev. Shawn Thomas and Dr. Dewey Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
